mitsurugi reiji

Reiji Mitsurugi is a distinguished prosecutor and an old acquaintance of Ryuuichi Naruhodou. During his initial four years in the prosecution, he maintained an impeccable win record, portraying himself as an unyielding figure who would stop at nothing to secure a guilty verdict for the defendant. After the death of his father in the DL-6 case, he was adopted by his mentor, Manfred Von Karma. This era came to an end when Naruhodou defeated him in Turnabout Sisters and Turnabout Samurai. Subsequently, Mitsurugi found himself as a defendant, represented by his former "rival," Naruhodou. Mitsurugi, Butz, and Naruhodo attended grade school together. This period marked one of two pivotal events that inspired Naruhodo to pursue a career in law. Mitsurugi's lunch money was stolen by Butz, with Naruhodo playing the "defendant." Mitsurugi defended him, fostering a close friendship until Mitsurugi was adopted by Manfred Von Karma following the DL-6 incident. Manfred Von Karma murdered Mitsurugi's father in an elevator during the IS-7 incident, leading to severe trauma and night terrors for Mitsurugi, making him believe he might have killed his own father. This became known as the DL-6 case. After prosecuting one more case, Mitsurugi left the prosecutor's office to explore the true meaning of being a prosecutor. He left a note saying, "Miles Edgeworth chooses death," which was mistaken for a suicide note. He returned and by the time of the Mask☆DeMasque trials, had earned the reputation as the top prosecutor in Japan. In Bridge to the Turnabout, Naruhodo is hospitalized after falling from a great height while attempting to cross a burning bridge. Mitsurugi returns, this time taking Naruhodo's place in court against Franziska Von Karma. Mitsurugi also studied international law abroad, prosecuting in five other countries. He played a crucial role in identifying and bringing the leader of a notorious international smuggling ring to justice. During this international smuggling ring incident, certain circumstances led him to resign his badge to the Prosecutorial Investigative Committee. Years later, he returned to prosecute Athena Cykes and Simon Blackquill. Mitsurugi is generally perceived as a snob due to his skeptical, ruthless, and aloof demeanor, both in life and in court. However, he has a strong moral compass, acting only in ways he deems fair and just. He cares deeply for his friends, going to great lengths to assist them when needed. For instance, he chartered a private jet to help Naruhodou when the defense attorney desperately needed assistance. Mitsurugi is also very insecure and dislikes showing his vulnerabilities. Typically, Mitsurugi remains calm and level-headed in conversations, though he can come across as somewhat cold and occasionally condescending. In court, Mitsurugi meticulously plans each trial to ensure victory. Deviations from his plan easily unsettle him. He strives to adhere to standard courtroom procedures, often struggling to get witnesses to state their names and professions due to their eccentricities.
