He harbors a deep personal grudge against Phoenix Wright. The name "Godot" originates from Samuel Beckett's play "Waiting for Godot," with the 't' being silent, pronounced as "Go-doh." Previously, Godot was known as Diego Armando. He worked as a defense attorney under Marvin Grossberg and eventually became Mia Fey's lover. Diego was confident, skilled, and enjoyed teasing, often referring to attractive women as his "kittens." Despite his playful demeanor, he was committed to ensuring criminals faced justice. Diego supported Mia Fey during her first case, advising her throughout and encouraging her to persist. Their client, Terry Fawles, died on the stand after consuming poison given by the real killer, Dahlia Hawthorne. Enraged by this outcome, Diego shattered his coffee mug with his bare hands, causing them to bleed. Soon after, they began dating, with their boss Marvin Grossberg acknowledging their relationship. On August 27, 2013, Diego questioned Dahlia Hawthorne. Fearing he was closing in on her, she poisoned his coffee. This led to Diego falling into a coma, suffering severe damage to his central nervous system, eyesight, and turning his hair white. Five years later, Diego awoke to the aroma of coffee. Upon awakening, he learned that Mia Fey had been murdered two years earlier by Redd White, CEO of Bluecorp. Additionally, Dahlia Hawthorne had already faced justice. Wearing a visor to aid his limited vision, unable to see red on white, Diego adopted the new identity of "Godot," considering his former self to have "died."
