As the lecherous leader of a squad tasked with finding intruders in Soul Society, he inadvertently allows two intruders, Orihime Inoue and Uryū Ishida, to slip by undetected by posing as Shinigami in his squad.
He attempts to flirt with Orihime but stops when Uryū reminds him of their mission to capture the intruders. Angered by being interrupted by an unseated officer, Toshimori threatens Uryū. However, when another Shinigami from his squad calls for him, Toshimori tells Uryū that they will finish this later and resumes the search for the intruders.
Uryū informs him that he and the others will be long gone before that could happen.
