He is a young toddler who tragically dies due to abuse by his mother's boyfriend. His mother, half-asleep, had allowed the hungry Takeshi to eat pudding from the fridge. When her boyfriend returned home later, he reacted violently and inadvertently killed Takeshi. Takeshi did not die immediately, but his mother and her boyfriend left him, thinking he was still alive. Before his death, Takeshi drew a fictional hero called "Muscle Rider." Upon waking up in Gantz's room as a participant in the game, he believes that Kaze is "Muscle Rider." Kaze watches over Takeshi during his first mission, and after learning about Takeshi's cause of death, decides to let him stay with him. Takeshi continues to believe that Kaze is Muscle Rider. By chapter 240, he discovers and uses the abilities of the suit, including the "back attack," Kaze's signature move. Despite his small size, Takeshi can defend himself against average opponents. Having imitated Kaze's fighting style, Takeshi manages to fend off a group of monsters surrounding him and even injures a large creature emerging from the river, earning 26 points at the end of the mission. He later even lands a surprise attack on the Gantz veteran, Nishi.
