She is Kurono's first genuine girlfriend, initially dating him as a dare. He genuinely falls in love with her, and they develop a meaningful relationship, with Kurono showing strong protective instincts towards her.
After photographing the Game's participants during their mission, she quickly becomes the next target (since Gantz aims to stay unknown to outsiders). To complete the mission and secure his points, Shion Izumi takes pleasure in murdering Tae (while Kei and Reika attempt to deliberately fail the mission by safeguarding her life), but Reika later revives her. Similar to Kurono, she also notices gaps in her memory, indicated by photos of her with Kurono and her paintings of him. A significant part of Phase 3 revolves around Kurono's efforts to rescue her from the giants.
