Known by his alias "Prince," he is admired for his bishounen looks and is considered Amu's love interest. Whenever someone calls him "Prince," his personality shifts dramatically to that of a violent, egotistical king with ambitions of world domination. Due to this, he avoids Character Changes with Kiseki unless absolutely necessary. In reality, Tadase is quite shy and struggles with public speaking, wishing to become a stronger character like Amu. He lives in a traditional Japanese house. Tadase once had a beloved dog named Betty, who passed away recently, leaving him heartbroken. Along with the other Guardians, he initially sought Amu’s help due to a prophecy about a girl with three Guardian Eggs. At one point, Tadase lost confidence because he couldn’t find the Embryo. This vulnerability made him susceptible to the influence of the Black Diamonds CD, causing Kiseki to transform into an X-Egg. Amu helped him overcome this crisis, allowing him to Character Transform with Kiseki into "Platinum Royale." During a Character Change, his attack is "Holy Crown," where he creates a golden shield of energy around himself. In his Character Transformation, his power is "White Decoration," which cleanses X-Eggs. When transformed into "Platinum Royale," his attire features numerous frills and laces, intentionally designed to make him appear more princely. Initially, Tadase had a crush on "Amulet Heart," but later admitted he loved Amu because she was truly herself, not just the persona she wanted to be. At first, he is about the same height as Amu, but grows taller as the story progresses. In chapter 28 and/or episode 74, Tadase confesses his feelings to Amu by asking if it was okay to fall in love with her, stating that he no longer thinks about "Amulet Heart." Ikuto, hidden in the closet, overhears this confession and becomes jealous of Tadase. In episode 28, Tadase reveals that he was once childhood friends with Ikuto and Utau, looking up to Ikuto and referring to him as a brother.
