Like many female Shinigami, Soi Fon is a member of the Shinigami Women's Association.
Beneath her standard Shinigami captain uniform, Soi Fon wears the special forces leader's outfit, which lacks sleeves or back covering. This design accommodates her use of Shunkō (Flash Cry), an advanced technique combining hand-to-hand combat with Kido, causing high spiritual pressure at the shoulders and back that tears away the fabric. Her hair is short, with two long braids wrapped in cloth.
