Morita is an enigmatic individual who engages in various eccentric activities for personal amusement, such as creating a Twister game with too many colors, leading to painful outcomes for himself and Takemoto. He is insightful yet tactless, often revealing uncomfortable truths, such as Mayama's secret stalking of Rika outside her apartment. Morita expresses his affection for Hagu in unconventional ways, like making her dress up as a mouse, stemming from his childhood fondness for cute things, which once caused a cat to become neurotic after excessive cuddling. Due to Morita's peculiar behavior, Hagu initially fears and avoids him but eventually falls in love with him. Despite his unusual treatment, Morita truly cares for Hagu, gifting her expensive mules and crafting a dove brooch, both items she had wished for in her scrapbook. Later in the series, Morita leaves for America without informing his friends. After about a year, he returns, and his friends finally learn about his work. He won Best CGI at the Mocademy Awards for the film 'Space Titanic', following studies with renowned director Peter Lucas. Upon his departure, his room, previously off-limits, was discovered to contain advanced technology. Upon returning from America, Morita successfully graduates by submitting his work on the last possible day, completing his course in his 8th year. Despite becoming wealthy from his American endeavors, he enrolls in a Japanese Arts course, believing he hasn't studied enough, re-entering as a third-year student having already completed half the subjects. Towards the end of the series, it is revealed that Morita's financial success and Hollywood work were part of a scheme orchestrated by his brother Kaoru and old employees of his father's company to take down the man who took over their father's business. Morita opposed this plan, as his father advised them not to hold grudges, but he agreed out of respect for his brother. After successfully ruining the man, Morita becomes deeply depressed, questioning his talent and turning to Hagu, who was facing potential loss of function in her working hand. Morita tries to persuade her to abandon their talents together, saying "just being together is enough." Ultimately, Hagu's determination and her choice of Hanamoto-sensei help Morita decide his future path. He assists the family they wronged, reconciles with his brother, and decides to work for Peter Lucas, finding similarities between the director and his father. He still loves Hagu and sets up a webcam so she can always watch him, as promised.
