Komamura is the tallest normal character in Bleach, standing 57 cm taller (288 cm) than his subordinate Jirōbō, who is the next tallest. His physical presence is even more imposing. The only larger human characters are the Seireitei gatekeepers, each approximately thirty feet tall. Komamura is unique as an anthropomorphic canine, though the specific animal is unclear, as he exhibits traits of both foxes and wolves. Kenpachi Zaraki has referred to him as a "bastard wolf" on occasion, but Komamura has red fur similar to that of a fox.
