A senior in high school and the president of the school's kendo club, she excels with a bokken and in close combat. Saeko is calm and composed, taking pride in her abilities and those around her. She is one of the most dependable members of the group, and everyone relies on her combat skills to navigate through difficult situations if necessary. Little is known about her family besides her father, who was abroad attending a self-defense conference before the Outbreak. Saeko has shown affection towards Takashi and trusts in his capabilities to lead them through the crisis.

Four years prior to the events of the story, Saeko was assaulted by a man while walking home one night. However, she managed to overpower him easily as she had her wooden sword with her. After severely injuring the attacker, the police released her due to the circumstances, but the incident left a significant impact on Saeko. She uncovered a sadistic side to herself that enjoyed causing pain and suffering. It is also suggested that she once had feelings for a boy in the past. But she never confessed her feelings to him, believing that her dark side made her unworthy of doing so.
