Rei is Takashi's classmate and childhood friend, having known each other since kindergarten. She once promised him that she would marry him someday. Despite her feelings for Takashi, their relationship was strained at the beginning of the story due to his indecisiveness. Consequently, she started dating one of his friends, Hisashi, as Takashi wouldn't make a move. As the narrative progressed, they managed to reconcile their relationship. Rei doesn't hesitate to scold Takashi when he acts carelessly. She worries about his well-being but acknowledges that his selflessness is one reason she fell in love with him. Headstrong and dependable, Rei has shown herself to be a skilled fighter and a valuable asset to the group.
Initially in the same grade as Saeko, Rei was held back despite being an excellent student. Her father, a police detective, had been investigating the corruption linked to Shido's father, a teacher at her school. As a result, Shido purposefully held her back. Rei harbors a lasting resentment towards him and feels uneasy whenever he's around.
After escaping from high school and resting at Saya's family mansion, Rei and the group are now searching for their parents.
