nojiko

Nojiko is the adoptive older sister of Nami, though they are not biologically related, having been raised together by Bellemere. She plays a significant role in the Arlong arc by revealing Nami's past to the Straw Hat crew and assisting in Luffy's rescue with Genzo after he was thrown into the ocean by Arlong, his feet encased in cement. Nojiko has tattoos covering her right arm, which she got to make Nami feel less ashamed of her own tattoo bearing Arlong’s pirate symbol. After attempting to stop Nami from attacking Captain Nezumi, a Navy officer who tried to take the money Nami had raised for her deal with Arlong, Nojiko was shot in the back by him but survived. In the manga, she gave her bracelet to Nami. She later reappears and expresses happiness that Nami looks joyful in her wanted poster.
