Brook, known as the "Gentleman Skeleton," is a pirate residing in the Florian Triangle region of the Grand Line. Despite claiming to be a gentleman and speaking in an aristocratic manner, his etiquette has significantly deteriorated due to his prolonged isolation. His table manners are atrocious—he shouts for food while waiting to be served, asks to swap plates with those who have larger portions, and eats so messily that his face ends up stained. Additionally, he becomes extremely flatulent after meals but says "excuse me" to maintain his "gentlemanly" demeanor. He enjoys telling peculiar bone-themed jokes and melodramatic stories and is quite perverted, asking Nami and Robin to show him their underwear upon meeting them.
He is a talented musician, something Luffy had always wanted in his crew from the start, and he favors playing the violin. Due to his light weight, he can jump to incredible heights and even run on water by rapidly moving his legs. His main weapon is a shikomizue, which he uses to execute swift iaidō attacks that go unnoticed by his enemies.
