Neliel Tu Oderschvank, commonly known as Nel Tu, is initially introduced as a good-natured and child-like arrancar. Her hollow mask remnants form a cartoonish skull on top of her head. Nel and her companions mistakenly believe that Soul Reapers are evil rather than hollows, which makes them afraid of the Soul Reapers. Despite this fear, she forms an attachment to Ichigo Kurosaki and starts following him around after their first meeting. She often mispronounces Ichigo's name as "Itsygo" due to her lisp and considers herself a masochist. Nel's true form is that of a fully-grown woman with a less cartoonish mask featuring curved horns. A large "3" tattooed on her back signifies her former status as the Tercera Espada. In the past, Nnoitra Jiruga, tired of being inferior to her, attacked Nel from behind with Szayel Aporro's help, cracking her mask and causing her to transform into her child form, lose her memory, and be expelled from the Espada. Years later, when Nel encounters Nnoitra torturing Ichigo, she reverts to her adult form with her memories restored. Though more mature in this form, she retains her child-like voice and affection for Ichigo, hugging him so tightly that it causes him pain. As she is about to defeat Nnoitra, Nel reverts back to her child form, losing all of her adult powers. Later, Urahara helps her maintain her adult form permanently. She collaborates with Harribel to rule Hueco Mundo following Yhwach's invasion. In her child state, Nel's vomit (which she believes to be saliva) serves as a weak but useful healing agent. Both in her child and adult forms, she can swallow cero attacks and fire them back. In her adult form, she can combine her own cero with this blast, doubling its power, called "cero doble." Nel's zanpakutō, which manifests upon her transformation, is named Gamuza (羚騎士（ガミューサ）, Gamyūsa), meaning "chamois" in Spanish and "antelope knight" in Japanese. Her released form resembles an ibex-like centaur with longer curved horns, a thick tail, and armor over her shoulders and hands. Her sword transforms into a double-ended white lance, giving her the appearance of a medieval knight or jouster. One of her attacks in this form is Lanzador Verde (Spanish for "green lancer"), where she throws her lance directly at her opponent.
