Mizore Shirayuki is a yuki-onna who shares the same homeroom class with Tsukune and Moka, often seen sucking on a lollipop. Her attire includes a white wide-necked sweater with blue sleeves over a black tank top, a short plaid yellow skirt part of Yokai Academy's girls' uniform, pink and violet stockings (her right stocking slightly longer than her left), and a belt wrapped around her left thigh.
After returning from a delayed absence, Mizore was initially depicted as a lonely, somewhat depressed, and misunderstood girl. She develops a crush on Tsukune, even creating her own journal/scrapbook filled with his newspaper articles.
In the past, she confessed her love to a teacher, but when he started taking advantage of her, she froze him in retaliation. This incident and the subsequent rumors made it difficult for Mizore to trust anyone. However, she began to trust Tsukune, believing he was just as miserable as she was. After Tsukune intervenes when the same teacher returns to kill her, she regains her sense of trust. Unfortunately, this leads Mizore to stalk Tsukune daily (from about 340 spying locations, according to her). Initially sporting long hair, she cuts it short after the incident is resolved. Later, Mizore decides that even if Tsukune doesn't fall in love with her, she will follow him forever.
A recurring joke in the series is that Mizore always appears unexpectedly in strange places (under tables, behind doors, the ceiling, bushes, and even in the bathroom), freezing any girl who disrupts Tsukune's tender moments.
Consistent with her nature, Mizore has the ability to control snow and ice at will, shaping ice claws around her hands while doing so (her hair turns into ice on rare occasions). She can also create nearly perfect copies (though somewhat fragile) of herself and others, each capable of independent thought. Like many ice-affiliated creatures, she is very sensitive to flames, which was shown in one anime episode when she burned her hand while preparing curry, instinctively freezing the dish as a result.
