Miyu Edelfelt is a young girl who serves under Luvia as a magical girl. Her background remains a mystery, except for having a brother who bears a resemblance to Shirou. She adopts the Edelfelt name after being taken in by Luvia. Living in Luvia's mansion, she works as her maid to earn her place. Miyu uses Sapphire, Ruby's sister Kaleidostick, to transform and initially demonstrates a better grasp of her powers compared to Illya. She approaches her duties with seriousness and views Illya as an annoying rival, though they eventually form a close friendship. Later, Miyu gains the ability to use the Saber class card, embodying the Heroic Spirit after witnessing Illya do so. Miyu is the complete Holy Grail from the world where the Class Cards originated. Her brother is that world's version of Shirou. Brought to the main world through unknown means, she was adopted by Luvia in her quest to rival Ilya and Rin's partnership. They defeat Bazett and collaborate with her to capture the 8th Card. The 8th Card originates from another Holy Grail ritual and manifests as a child version of Gilgamesh. It is later revealed by Gilgamesh that Miyu comes from a parallel world and is a princess. After being saved from black Gilgamesh by Illya, Miyu is captured by Angelica and Beatrice from another world. In 3rei, Miyu is held captive in Ainsworth's stronghold. It is later revealed that her original name was Miyu Sakatsuki. She was a "Child of God," a child revered as a deity in an occult religion, granting her wish-granting power akin to the Holy Grail. Kiritsugu and Shirou encountered her during an incident that engulfed her hometown in black flames, witnessing Miyu dispel the fire. Kiritsugu took her, intending to utilize her wish-granting power to save the world. Kiritsugu asked Shirou to use Miyu to grant his wish for world salvation, but Shirou could not bring himself to do it as Miyu became more human each day. Kiritsugu passed away some years later, and Shirou continued to care for Miyu. During this time, Shirou and Miyu grew very close. Miyu then used her power to wish for her and Shirou to become real siblings.
