Mikihisa Asakura is the father of protagonist Yoh Asakura in the manga and anime series, Shaman King. In the manga, he was part of Team Kabbalahers with Redseb and Seyram. Mikihisa has two spirits—a tanuki and a kitsune—and his Over Souls utilize stones as mediums. Past: Before becoming a shaman, Mikihisa was an unemployed musician living in an apartment with two other band members. One night, while busking near a train station, he met Keiko Asakura, who had just been dumped by her boyfriend. She paid him ten yen to play a song for her and revealed she could see ghosts. Keiko invited Mikihisa to her rented house, marking the beginning of their relationship. Notably, the Asakura family lacked a male heir in Keiko's generation since she was Yohmei and Kino's only child and had no brothers. Consequently, Mikihisa married into the family following the Japanese muku no naru tradition, adopting the Asakura surname to continue the family line. When Keiko became pregnant with Hao, Yohmei Asakura, the head of the Asakura family, decided to kill the baby immediately after birth to prevent Hao from participating in the upcoming Shaman Fight. However, since Keiko was carrying twins, they couldn't determine which one was Hao. Yohmei ultimately decided to kill both babies to be safe. After the first baby was born, Yohmei summoned his shikigami but hesitated to kill his grandchild. The Spirit of Fire appeared, destroying the shikigami and attacking Yohmei. Mikihisa blocked the attack, suffering severe burns to his face. Before he could retaliate, the Spirit of Fire lifted him away. With the Spirit of Fire gone (along with Hao), Keiko gave birth to Yoh. Mikihisa wears a mask to conceal the burn scars from the Spirit of Fire. He blamed himself for failing to eliminate Hao and embarked on rigorous training around the world. During this time, he met Tamao Tamamura, whom he took as an apprentice and often brought along during his training. Shaman Fight: In the Shaman Fight tournament, Mikihisa's role is to watch over Yoh, often observing his battles from the shadows or perched atop trees. He also shared parts of the Cho Senji Ryakketsu with Yoh and his group, including FumonTonkou to Ren. He was a close friend of Professor Camel Munzer, the father of Redseb and Seyram. After the professor's death, Mikihisa took responsibility for looking after the children and learned about the destructive potential of the Golem. Forming Team Kabbalahers was partly to ensure the Golem did not fall into the wrong hands. Team Kabbalahers was among the top six remaining teams in the main Shaman Fight tournament. During the decisive battle between Team The Ren and Team Funbari Onsen, Team Kabbalahers withdrew, allowing both teams to qualify alongside X-I and the Hoshigumi. In the Anime: Mikihisa plays a similar role in the anime as in the manga. However, since Redseb and Seyram are exclusive to the manga, Mikihisa is never mentioned as part of any team in the Shaman Fight main tournament.
