Luppi temporarily takes over as the 6th Espada when Grimmjow Jeagerjaques is demoted due to losing his arm. Luppi is a youthful Espada with short black hair and a notably feminine face. His hollow mask remnants, resembling a top row of teeth, are positioned on the left side of his head, looking like a hair comb or barrette. His outfit includes long sleeves that extend past his hands, concealing them. The location of his hollow hole remains hidden, but his Espada tattoo is clearly visible on his right hip.
Luppi often displays arrogance, mocking Grimmjow for his demotion and frequently boasting during battles. He tends to mockingly say "Sorry!" after insulting someone. After Grimmjow's arm is restored, he kills Luppi to reclaim his Espada rank. Luppi and Gin Ichimaru appeared to have had a friendly relationship, as Gin expresses loneliness following Luppi's death, mentioning their frequent conversations.
Luppi's zanpakutou is named Trepadora, a short blade similar to a kodachi or tantou that he wears close to his armpit. Trepadora is released with the command "strangle." Upon release, eight tendrils emerge from a carapace on Luppi's back. His mask also transforms into a makeshift helmet. Luppi can independently control these tentacles to attack his enemies, making him adept at group combat. The tentacles can grow spikes to inflict extra damage, and the carapace can rotate, allowing Luppi to spin the tentacles like helicopter blades.
