Leon initially introduced himself as a member of the Dark Cooking Society. He first appeared at Yang Spring Restaurant, demanding that Ruoh give him one of the Legendary Cooking Utensils he claimed was rightfully his. Ruoh then stated that Leon had to battle Mao to determine the true successor of the utensil. Mao emerged victorious, and soon after, Leon revealed everything to him upon realizing his enduring love for cooking. Like Mao, Leon is also the heir to the Ever-Soul knife. He disclosed that he had betrayed and fled from the Dark Cooking Society upon recognizing its true nature.
It turns out that a young Leon used to be a cook at Yang Spring Restaurant several years ago. Similar to Mao, Leon was a natural genius in the culinary arts. He was also a kind-hearted child who didn't want to kill animals but would place a red paper talisman on them and pray when he did. Driven by a desire to learn more about cooking, he left the restaurant and traveled around China. During these travels, his urge to become an even better cook grew stronger. However, when he couldn't find anything further to learn, he joined the Dark Cooking Society to master their dark culinary techniques. While underground, his knife skills reached unparalleled heights. Corrupted by the organization, his obsession with becoming the best chef intensified. He sought out Luo Xie, China's best knife forger, to craft the finest knives. Luo Xie named his creation the Seven-Star Knives, considered the best knife set in all of China. When Luo Xie mentioned that he might one day create an even better set, Leon, in a fit of rage, stabbed him in the abdomen, causing him to fall off a cliff. This incident traumatized Leon and marked the beginning of his journey to make amends. He remains the sole possessor of the coveted Seven-Star knives. Although, in the episode "The True Owner of the Seven-Star Knives," he encounters Shan An, an Underground female chef, who possesses duplicates.
He now travels with Mao to retrieve the Legendary Cooking Utensils, aiming to prevent the Dark Cooking Society from obtaining them.
