valeth lezard

Lezard Valeth makes his first appearance in the manga in chapter 2. Lezard is both a Necromancer and an alchemist. He is initially seen providing Lombert with a magic vial of ghoul power, aiding Lombert's malevolent plans to ignite a war between Villnore and Artolia.

When Princess Jelanda consumes the ghoul power and transforms into a demon, Lezard observes from the safety of his home through a looking glass. When Lenneth Valkyrie unexpectedly appears, Lezard is immediately smitten and expresses his desire for her.

Lezard Valeth is present alongside Lombert at the Artolia castle when Arngrim arrives seeking vengeance for Jelanda's death. Upon Valkyrie's appearance to assist Arngrim, Lezard had anticipated this.

Following Lombert's demise, his body falls onto a large sorcerer's pentagram, likely set up by Lezard. A monster emerges from the corpse and attacks. While Valkyrie is engaged with the monster, Lezard touches Lenneth's hair, admiring her beauty. Taking advantage of her incapacitation, Lezard removes Valkyrie's Ring of Destiny. Lenneth reacts violently, releasing energy that frees her from the monster's grasp. Lezard then teleports away.

Lezard reappears in chapter 9, teleporting Arngrim and Jelanda to safety after Lenneth's body is taken over by Hrist Valkyrie. Lezard offers his assistance in reviving his beloved Valkyrie. Recognizing the need for three magicians, he recruits Mystina.

Lezard, Mystina, Arngrim, and Jelanda track down Hrist in Brahm's castle. With Brahm's aid, they manage to annihilate Hrist. Lezard, Mystina, and Jelanda seal Lenneth's soul in a crystal, and Lezard uses his necromancy to fuse her soul with a homunculus body.

Upon Lenneth's awakening, she grieves over Lucian's death, and Lezard is shown turned away, possibly uncomfortable with Lenneth's human reaction and realizing her heart was not yet his.

The final glimpse of Lezard is in a single panel in the last chapter, after Lenneth has undone Loki's destruction and renewed Asgard and Midgard with her powers of Creation. Mystina offers him sarcastic condolences for Lezard's loss of love, as Lenneth and Lucian are finally reunited. Lezard is absent from the final page where the party joins Lenneth, suggesting he retreated back to Midgard to continue his plots and yearning.

Lezard Valeth originated in Valkyrie Profile (Playstation) and appears in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria (Playstation 2), also making a cameo in Radiata Stories (Playstation 2).
