lenneth

Lenneth is the main character and protagonist. She is one of the three goddesses who govern destiny. She first appears in chapter 1. Summoned by Odin, she takes up her mantle as Valkyrie to recruit the souls of men in preparation for Ragnarok. Lenneth is generally kind but merciless against her enemies. She is stoic yet determined in her duties as a Valkyrie and later as Lord of Creation. Unlike many Aesir, Lenneth does not disdain humans; instead, she enjoys their company and eventually becomes their protector. She dislikes those who lack kindness or compassion, acting indifferently towards them. She despises those who disturb the souls of the dead or manipulate humans. By the end of Valkyrie Profile, Lenneth breaks her allegiance with Odin and other gods to prevent Loki from destroying Midgard. Calm and level-headed, Lenneth speaks with authority and confidence. Her loyalty and independence reflect traits typical of middle-born children. Her words are not insulting but serve as warnings to her opponents. Most characters describe her as very beautiful. Using her powers, Lenneth recruits supporting characters for side quests to purge evil from Midgard. As they join her, she questions her role and humanity, eventually breaking the memory seal imposed by Odin and Freya. Her soul is suppressed, and her body is taken over by her elder sister Hrist. Lenneth reappears at the chapter's end when Arngrim, Mystina, Jelanda, and Lezard revive her soul in a homunculus body. During her suppression, Lenneth dreams of witnessing Lucian's death at Loki's hands. Revived by Lezard and others, she leads them to Asgard to confront Loki. Upon confronting Loki, Lenneth discovers her rebirth through a homunculus allows her to grow, unlike other gods whose powers are static. Now wielding the powers of Creation, she easily defeats Loki and absorbs his soul, similar to how she handles Einherjar. With her new powers, she restores Lucian and others to life, and they live happily ever after with Lenneth as the Lord of Creation.
