Kumadori (クマドリ, Kumadori) is one of the final members of CP9 to be introduced. He stands out with his massive build, voluminous pinkish hair, and a perpetually closed right eye. Deeply influenced by the samurai honor code, he often attempts to take his own life after dishonoring himself, albeit in a comical fashion. His tendency to accept blame for almost anything, even others' mistakes, leads to frequent suicide attempts. However, each time he instinctively uses Tekkai, unintentionally saving himself from death.
He harbors strong feelings for his deceased mother, often breaking into tears during fights when thinking of her. He attributes his failed suicide attempts to her "divine protection." This sentiment is somewhat undermined when it's revealed that his mother is actually alive and working as an assassin. Despite claiming to dislike lies, he has no issue with melodramatic stories. As a sennin, he can control his body's autonomic functions and alter his weight, which explains his ability to manipulate his hair.
Kumadori is a very loud character, speaking almost exclusively in bolded text with exclamation marks. He frequently yells something akin to "YOYOI!!" and tends to elongate syllables and words like a kabuki actor. His name likely derives from kumadori, a type of makeup used in kabuki, given the resemblance of his features to those of kabuki actors. His fighting style involves controlling his hair to grab enemies and attack them. He also wields a shakujō and occasionally recites haiku during battles.
In combat, Kumadori initially faced Nami, who was at a significant disadvantage. However, Chopper intervened and helped Nami escape after she had already stolen Kumadori’s key. Chopper then became Kumadori’s opponent. Despite Kumadori’s advantage as a sennin, Chopper consumed a third Rumble Ball, transforming into his "Monster Point" form, severely injuring Kumadori and sending him flying back to the courthouse.
