Birthday: December 31
Kisuke Urahara is known for his distinctive style, always wearing traditional Japanese wooden sandals and a bucket hat. This unique look has earned him the nickname "sandal-hat" or "Mr. Hat-and-Clogs" in English. Despite his relaxed and jovial demeanor, he can be extremely serious when necessary. His speech is consistently polite, though it can sometimes be sarcastic. Yoruichi Shihouin mentions that he tends to go overboard with anything he becomes passionate about. Urahara once described himself as a "mere honest, handsome, perverted businessman."
During the Bount arc of the anime, when Ganju Shiba refers to Urahara as an "old man," Urahara responds by saying he is the same age as Ganju's sister, Kūkaku Shiba.
Urahara is often found near significant events but rarely intervenes directly, preferring to control things from the sidelines. After the event concludes, such as the battle between Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai, he appears kindly and assists those he deems worthy. Typically, this means helping the protagonists. He usually knows more than he lets on and has connections with many characters in the story. While he plays a major role in driving the plot forward, he often acts as a catalyst, letting others do the heavy lifting.
Despite his laid-back appearance, Urahara is an exceptionally skilled fighter, combining powerful attacks with clever deceptions. He can hold his own against Espada-level arrancar using only his shikai. Additionally, he enjoys constructing large underground training spaces in secret. The first one was built under Sōkyoku Hill in Soul Society with Yoruichi for their training, and a second one was created beneath his shop in the mortal realm for similar purposes.
Urahara is also the former captain of Squad 12, known for designing the Orb of Distortion, which can create Vizards—Soul Reapers with Hollow powers.
