Eustass Kid, known as the "Captain," is an infamous pirate and one of The Eleven Supernovas, renowned pirates on Sabaody Archipelago with individual bounties exceeding 100,000,000 when the Straw Hats arrived. His bounty is the second highest active bounty, surpassed only by Luffy's bounty of 400,000,000, making it the fourth highest seen in the series after Donquixote Doflamingo, Gekko Moriah, and Monkey D. Luffy. His high bounty is due to his crew causing massive civilian casualties.
Eustass has pale skin, no eyebrows, dark-colored lips, and black-painted nails. He sports a flame-like red crimson hairstyle and wears square-framed goggles that extend over his nose. He dresses in pants with a yellow and black spotted pattern and what appears to be sea boots. His appearance seems influenced by Heavy Metal musicians.
Around his waist, he wears a large bright blue scarf and belt where he keeps several knives and what looks like a gun. He also wears gold bracelets on both wrists. Additionally, he wears a furred captain's coat adorned with spikes on its sides, typically with his right arm in the sleeve and his left arm under the coat.
Similar to Luffy, Eustass shares a close relationship with his crewmates, particularly his first mate Killer, who speaks to him casually. Eustass is notorious for causing significant civilian casualties and is often angry or making sarcastic jokes. He quickly resorts to violence when insulted, such as attacking Scratchmen Apoo for staring at him (in the anime, Apoo also flipped him off).
Despite his violent tendencies, Eustass knows how to restrain himself in tight situations. He is aware of the World Nobles' cruelty and remarks that compared to them, pirates are almost humane. Like Luffy, his dream is to find One Piece and become the new Pirate King. This shared ambition leads him to respect Luffy, though he deals with challenges in his own ruthless way, killing those who mock his ambitions. He believes determination is crucial for survival in the New World.
