He has a tall, youthful appearance with a slender build and long blonde hair that falls past his shoulders, along with blonde eyelashes. His attire typically consists of a white uniform variant specific to the Sternritter, including a hooded cloak, a calf-length trench coat (thigh-length during the first attack on Soul Society), adorned with dark green fur running from his left collar to the front. His outfit also includes a green belt with a golden buckle, white trousers, and shoes.
Although he speaks to Yhwach in a more casual manner than some, Haschwalth maintains a highly respectful tone. He demonstrates unwavering loyalty to Yhwach, stopping another Sternritter from recklessly entering Yhwach's chambers out of outrage over his chosen successor. Calmly, Haschwalth asserts that it is Yhwach's decision to name a successor, not his own, and believes that everyone, including himself, is prepared to live and die for Yhwach's continued existence. Confident in his abilities, when the Wandenreich invades Soul Society for the second time, Haschwalth confronts Captain-Commander Shunsui Kyouraku, declaring their intent to instantly exterminate the enemy army.
Haschwalth firmly believes in balance, implying that a fight must be fair and that if one's life is saved by good luck, it will be ended by an equal amount of misfortune. This belief led him to attack a fellow Sternritter despite the disadvantages it posed on the battlefield.
