Fujitora was sent by Fleet Admiral Sakazuki to confront Luffy and Law. He first appeared in a restaurant in Acacia, gambling with some of Doflamingo's men who were cheating. Luffy exposed the thugs' bluff, aiding Fujitora. After thanking Luffy, he drew a sword from his cane. The thugs were crushed and fell into a hole in the ground. Fujitora remarked that not seeing the world's filth could be an advantage of being blind. Everyone was awestruck by his display of power, and Luffy's crew realized he must have a Devil Fruit ability. Luffy immediately asked who he was. Fujitora laughed and stated it would be unwise for both their sakes to reveal his identity. As he left, he gave the bartender a piece of paper, instructing him to forward all damage claims to the address on it.
He was later seen as a spectator at the Corrida Colosseum, scouting out notable participants. He told his subordinates they should leave and requested three battleships and a large number of medical officers. He planned to go to Green Bit first and inquired about the number of spectators, the town's population, and the country's population. When his subordinate asked why this information was needed, he replied that before counting enemies, they should count the number of people needing protection.
When dealing with Doflamingo's thugs who had cheated him due to his blindness, Fujitora used an unknown Devil Fruit. This fruit grants the ability to manipulate unseen forces around a chosen location at will. Initially, he used this power to create an intense unseen force that pressed the cheaters heavily against the floor, causing it to cave in and form a gigantic hole. Later, he used immense amounts of this unseen force to accomplish other feats, such as causing a meteor to fall from the sky. He also used this unseen force inversely to create a circular barrier around him that repelled attacks. As a testament to his power, he stated that his actions were merely a test of his strength.
