The Medaka Mermaid Quintuplets are five small young mermaids who are friends with Keimi. Their names are Ichika, Nika, Sanka, Yonka, and Yonka Two.
Ichika has red hair and a green-striped tail. Her top is white, and her hat is green with white polka-dots.
The sisters have a distinctive way of speaking. Ichika starts by making a statement. Nika follows with an exclamatory version of Ichika's statement. Sanka then says the opposite of the original statement. Yonka questions the original statement, and Yonka Two questions whether the statement matters at all. Here’s an example:
- Ichika: Luffy is a pirate.
- Nika: Luffy is a pirate!
- Sanka: Luffy isn't a pirate.
- Yonka: Luffy might be a pirate.
- Yonka Two: So what if Luffy's a pirate?
Besides this unique speech pattern, they are cheerful and friendly, often staying close together.
