Birthday: October 10 Hibiki Tokai is a third-class citizen of Tsarak who becomes entangled in the chaos alongside Duero and Bart. Initially, when the Nirvana was attacked by Harvesters emerging halfway across the galaxy, Hibiki was reluctant to do anything but hide. However, following a conversation with Sub-Commander BC, he decides to pilot a Vanguard to assist the female pilots against the enemy. Despite his rashness, Hibiki proves effective, quickly neutralizing enemy threats. By the series' conclusion, it is revealed that Hibiki is the son of Mejare's Empress and Taraak's Emperor, known as Lady Grand-ma and Lord Grand-pa, respectively. He had been in cryostasis but mysteriously awakened about 14 years before the series began. His uncle, the younger brother of Grand-pa, whom Hibiki calls "grandfather," took care of him after his emergence from cryostasis. It is Hibiki's rallying call to both planets that convinces them to fight for their right to live when the Harvester fleet from Earth arrives. Throughout the series, Hibiki and Dita share an odd-couple relationship. In the early episodes, Hibiki would flee from Dita whenever she approached, finding her extremely annoying. He even yelled at her to leave him alone, though he indirectly apologized later. Over time, Hibiki grows accustomed to Dita's presence, frequently helping her aboard the Nirvana.
