Giselle Gewelle is a Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich's Sternritter, designated as "Z." Giselle has long, dark-colored hair that reaches down to the lower back, with two strands sticking up like antennae. His attire is a variation of the typical Sternritter white uniform, including a trench coat with long sleeves, white shoes, and black leggings. Giselle's power is called The Zombie. Anyone who has Giselle's blood splattered on them falls under his control, effectively becoming a "corpse" and following Giselle's commands. This ability does not work on fellow Quincy unless they are already dead. Giselle can also heal allies by using the flesh of the deceased to replace their own. He plays a significant role in the Wandenreich's second invasion. During this invasion, he battles Ikkaku and Yumichika, who question whether Giselle is actually male despite referring to himself as female, which enrages Giselle throughout their fight. Giselle uses his zombies to push them back, but Mayuri arrives with his own zombies and launches a counterattack. After Yhwach uses his Auswählen, Giselle betrays him along with Bazz B and Liltotto. They are all defeated, but in the 'Can't Fear Your Own World' novels, it is revealed that Giselle and Liltotto were rescued by Haschwalth's unnamed attendant. Despite Giselle's feminine appearance and some of his dialogue, Tite Kubo confirmed on his website's Q&A #288 that Giselle is indeed a man.
