Danjirou Obana was the first captain of the 5th Division over a millennium ago. As one of the original captains of the Gotei 13, Danjirou possessed an immense amount of spiritual energy, which he showcased by effortlessly defeating and killing numerous Quincy warriors during the initial invasion of Soul Society.
As a captain in the Gotei 13, Danjirou demonstrated exceptional skill in Zanjutsu, enabling him to deliver powerful and swift slashes that precisely dismembered his enemies.
Yhwach noted that Danjirou was notorious for his brutality and cold-blooded nature, exemplified by his massacre of the Quincy from Lichtreich during their first attack on Soul Society.
Zanpakuto: In its sealed form, Danjirou's Zanpakuto appeared as a katana with a blue handle and a golden, rectangular tsuba adorned with a curling design on one side and featuring small spikes along each long edge. It also had a blue scabbard.
