Conis is the first to greet the Straw Hat Pirates upon their arrival in Skypiea. She plays a crucial role in the Skypiea arc due to her interactions with the crew. When it's discovered that the Straw Hats haven't paid Skypiea's hefty toll, Conis reluctantly follows the orders of "god" Enel, which all citizens must obey under threat of death. After reporting them as trespassers, she leads Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp to Upper Yard but breaks down and confesses the truth under the weight of her betrayal. This act of disloyalty to Enel results in a lightning strike from the heavens aimed at Conis. Luffy attempts to save her but gets caught up in the attack too. They narrowly escape with help from Gan Fall, the 'knight of the sky.' Later, Conis redeems herself by guiding the Going Merry through Upper Yard, warning her people about Enel's impending attack, and helping the Straw Hats return to the Blue Sea after defeating Enel.
Conis is characterized as strong-willed, hopeful, and deeply caring for others' well-being. Initially appearing cheerful, friendly, and innocent, she maintains these traits even after meeting the Straw Hats. As she grows more courageous, she speaks her mind and defies fear of Enel. Conis is skilled at playing the harp and using a Waver. Though she never engages in combat, she carries a Burn Bazooka and knows how to use various dials. Her musical talents led fans to speculate she might join the crew as their musician, but Conis chooses to stay in Skypiea.
