Chimney is the energetic granddaughter of Sea Train conductor Kokoro and owns a rabbit named Gonbe, who believes he's a cat. Instantly fond of the Straw Hat Pirates upon meeting them outside Water Seven, Chimney often notices things others miss, such as spotting Luffy stuck between buildings after being knocked out by Rob Lucci or discovering hidden passages in the Tower of Justice at Enies Lobby. She and Gonbe sneak aboard the prototype Sea Train, Rocketman, joining the Straw Hats, Franky Family, and Galley-La foremen on their way to Enies Lobby. Later, she assists Luffy in finding the secret passageway Spandam, Lucci, and Robin used to reach the Gate of Justice.
Given that Kokoro is a mermaid, it's possible Chimney may have latent mermaid abilities. Although she doesn't exhibit any mermaid traits, she managed to save Luffy, who is three times her size, from drowning amidst powerful whirlpools near the Gate of Justice. Currently residing in Water Seven, Oda confirmed in Volume 45 SBS that Chimney is one-quarter mermaid, explaining her exceptional swimming skills.
