Chabo is a young boy from Gosa Village. He initially sought to kill Arlong to avenge his father's death, but Nami paid him off and told him to leave. Later, he mistakenly attacked Usopp, believing him to be a fish-man due to his long nose, but Nojiko intervened and stopped him. Upon returning to Nojiko's home, she advised him not to throw his life away and asked if he had a mother, to which he replied "yes." He was then sent on his way to her, as she was likely worried about him.
The surviving residents of Gosa later called the Marines for help. When the Marines arrived, Chabo informed Nojiko and the villagers of what had transpired. Despite their efforts, the Marines' fight against Arlong proved futile. After the fall of Arlong Park, Chabo decided to abandon his quest for vengeance and joined the rest of Cocoyashi Village in celebration.
