Mr. 2 Bon Clay is known as an "okama," a Japanese slang term for someone who is queer. He has a flamboyant personality and enjoys singing and dancing. His martial art style, called "Okama Kenpo," is featured in the Japanese manga. After consuming the Mane Mane no Mi (Clone Clone Fruit), Bon Clay gained the ability to transform into an exact copy of anyone he has touched. His swans form the shape of a number two. Although he was defeated by Sanji, he is considered a friend by the Straw Hat Pirates and even helped them escape from Alabasta.
Mr. 2 Bon Clay is unique among Baroque Works Officer Agents as he does not have a female partner. This is because, as an okama, he is believed to embody both male and female roles. His name combines a male agent's number with a female agent's holiday-based name. "Bon Clay" refers to a Buddhist celebration held on either July 15 or August 15 in Japan, marking the last day of the Bon festival when lanterns are lit and the Bon-Odori dance is performed.
In the Impel Down arc, Mr. 2 Bon Clay assists Luffy in escaping from the prison. At the end, he disguises himself as the prison's co-manager and opens the gates to allow Luffy to escape. He ultimately sacrifices himself to ensure Luffy's freedom.
