Bartolomeo the Cannibal is a Super Rookie and the captain of the Barto Club. He has a lean yet muscular build with light green hair styled in a wild rocker-like fashion. He lacks eyebrows and sports a demonic-looking face with sharp fangs and a nasal septum piercing. Two curved lines are tattooed under his right eye, leading towards his ear. His chest bears a dark tattoo of a thick ring with wings on the sides and long fangs at the bottom. He wears a dark purple coat with stripes down each sleeve and a plumed collar and cuffs. The back of the coat features a flaming head with two crossed sabers underneath. He also wears a light-colored ring-patterned belt with a chain on the left side, baggy checkered trousers, and dark ruffled boots.
Bartolomeo can be quite vulgar and laid-back at times. He tends to be provocative and mocks his opponents in a nonchalant manner. Despite his attempts to remain cool, he can become easily angered if provoked. Bartolomeo doesn't care much about others' opinions but does seem to value his crew's reputation.
Despite his cruel demeanor towards others, Bartolomeo holds immense respect for the Straw Hat Pirates. After witnessing Luffy's miraculous survival during the execution in Loguetown two years ago, Bartolomeo became a massive fan of Luffy, viewing him as his hero and even worshipping him. Following Luffy's exploits up to the Battle of Marineford, he was inspired to become a pirate. His admiration for Luffy runs so deep that he becomes enraged and attacks anyone who mocks Luffy, such as when he crushed a man against a wall and cut out his tongue for badmouthing Luffy. Bartolomeo also shows shyness around Luffy, hesitating to speak to him directly. He gets easily excited when meeting people he idolizes, bursting into tears of joy upon seeing Zoro and uncontrollably weeping while asking for an autograph. When he finally met Luffy face-to-face, he screamed in delight. It was revealed that he entered the tournament solely to give Luffy the Mera Mera no Mi.
Bartolomeo consumed the Bari Bari no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants him barrier abilities. He uses these barriers both defensively and offensively. The barriers appear indestructible and can be used to attack enemies as well.
