Akira Kurono is Kei Kurono's younger brother. Despite the age gap, Akira appears older than Kei. Their parents favored Akira due to his accomplishments, treating him better. Kei and Akira had a strained relationship, leading Kei to move away to distance himself from his family. Akira enjoyed a seemingly perfect life with a girlfriend and academic success, but he started noticing strange symptoms like a skin condition on his back and frequent headaches. After inadvertently attending a seminar about vampires, Akira realized these were signs of vampirism, which terrified him. He discovered Hikawa's plan to kill Kei and reached out to warn him, advising on precautions and revealing the vampires' vulnerability to UV light.

Eventually, Akira was killed, and his severed head was shown to Kei.
