I just finished chapter 80 of the manga but I thought I had to come back to this emotional chapter and give it credit. The only manga chapter that got me to shed some tears LOL. REAL chapter 36 will definitely be one of my most memorable chapters I've ever read. Same goes for the volume!

So he never got to show his ability to his father.

Holy...if there's one thing I bawl over, it's definitely that one feeling where you wanna show off something cool, but literally unable to. Takahashi really grew on me. Gotta suck ass for being so passionate at a sport, and now you can't even walk.

One of the best chapters for sure, and I can only hope Takahashi and his father can strengthen their bonds from here.

"Someday I want to show you. You can tell me how good I am at it. So...come home soon. Please. I'll be waiting....forever and ever."

Great chapter ;) And a Vagabond reference too.

That was a really heavy chapter...

He waited for so long to show his dad how good he'd gotten at the sport they've always done together but by the time the guy returned, he was no longer able to show him anything at all. He wanted his father to see how much of an A-Rank he is but he has absolutely nothing to back his claims anymore. He had finally revealed his true feelings and I also wonder what he'll say in regards to this.

Breathtaking. Incredible. Amazing.

I have no idea how to put my astonishment and admiration for this into words.

I knew the whole redemption / character past arc of Takahashi would be awesome, but I really didn't see the emotional impact it had on me personally coming.

Everything is perfect; I don't know what to say. It's just unbelievable.

I feel like stopping to read since the series is ongoing with many hiatuses and I know it'll unbearable and I really want to savour it (especially since I finished Slam Dunk on the same day and read the first 30 chapter of REAL although I had planned to wait) but on the other hand, I just can't do anything else right now. My mind is trapped in REAL's narrative

My favorite chapter so far, just seeing Hisanobu look back at his childhood and wanting to tell his father about all the things he was doing. The letter he was writing to his dad was just heartbreaking too and the ending scene of him breaking down and saying he can't do anything now was just as painful. Just a beautiful chapter all around and I can't wait to see to see more of Hisanobu's character development.
