Personally, I really like this novel. I am into long intricate novels with a heavy plot and a bunch of fleshed-out side characters. This novel presents that.

The plot is about a man in his late 20s (probably 29) getting transmigrated into the world of a game he played for 10 years. He becomes a freshman in a high school for Players. Players have skills, and some ability unique to them called gwangrim (wuxianxia translates it as light skill. It actually means something like an advent or a visit. The author describes it as the miracle made by humans). However, it is limited and can only be used for a set amount of time in a day, then it resets at 12 am. The MC can use the Gwangrims of all and only the playable characters in the game, and has a skill to use all weapons and shields, a skill that allows him to contact the Parauniverse (some kind of omnicient entity), and a skill called the Power of Fate. They are all OP, but what makes the story interesting is that they are very limited, and that's why the MC can't just solve everything on his own and needs the help of others.

The start is slow, but once it picks up the pacing becomes good. There is a clear goal and direction to the story. We know who the antagonist is, and what they are trying to do. I like how the author drops hints here and there and then we see the effects of them a hundred chapters later. The slice of life and big events are well-blanced. It is not heavy on action, but I like that because my brain can't keep up with fighting scenes, haha.

The characters are diverse and memorable. Good character development. They each have their time to shine, and it feels like they really have their own lives. The characters are of different species too. There are humans, jins, higher beings, and descendants. I like how they are built as a race, and how the connections between them work.

Spoiler

The MC is very smart. He used to be a prodigy in chess in his previous world, and has a good memory. He plays the role of the strategist in deflecting the hidden mastermind's blows. He was traumatized by the sudden death of his parents and younger brother and sister and became unable to continue playing chess. He is very kind to those he care about and very cold to those who harm them. (Bro was fine with some malicious commenter losing his hand because he hurt his classmate). He usually refuses to include the students in the planning. He sees them as just children and tries to protect them, but that changes 1000 chapters later, haha. It was very frustrating, but I think it was actually driven by his trauma. He was too scared of any little thing happening to them and tried to take on the risk himself instead. It was too excessive to be called normal overprotectiveness.

In short, I really recommend this novel to those with the same preferences as me. It has got plot, characters, mystery, and cute interactions. If you read 100-200 chapters and you're still not hooked then it is probably not for you. I hope this was helpful to you. Thank you for reading up to this point, and have a nice day.

Loved the story! It was a bit patchy in its flow though I understand with the flashbacks and all it can be tricky! What bothered me most however was that the book was not edited well. It had a lot of spelling and grammatical mistakes! If the book is complete I suggest that the author proof & edit it
