Vanilla Ice is intimidating as hell, I love him. The fact that he seemed so impenetrable until the desperate plan to create a fake Dio was demolished is a shocking touch. He cracked, not because a vermin impersonated his lord. But because he had to deface a statue of him. He was so furious he didn’t kill Iggy as easily as he could, he tried to torture him with kicks. It gave such a strong vibe of someone having to destroy a statue of the god they follow, Dio is that much of a presence to his fanatical followers. He may be willing to die, but the downside to the fanaticism of Vanilla Ice is that he can lose his mind to such a small thing. He can lose his cool in a moment and leave himself open. Yet, it’s not all bad either. Even when Polnareff, knowing that Ice’s stand moves through space/time, launched sand into the air like N’Doul’s sonar and stabbed him through the tongue, an incredible sequence of events if I may add, he had grit. Of course, what Vanilla Ice fears is not death, but if he’s anything like N’Doul, it would be disappointing Dio. This foe will only be stopped once he is lifeless and the manner in which he choked Chariot exemplifies that.
Iggy didn’t appear dead to me just yet. He had a speech bubble and everything. The Jo-bros have gone through some painful experiences before. But, if not only Abdul dies in a mere moment, but Iggy as well, then the scene that the other half of the gang arrives to help will be horrifying. The realization that the only one standing is Polnareff. I predicted to my friend group that Abdul and Iggy would be the ones that could die here due to some spoiler knowledge I have, but the sick pleasure of predicting fate is only as fun as it is until the grieving begins.
