I think the romance elements got in the way of the plot on a few occasions. For one, I just dont get the canon romance. There aren't sparks, there's barely chemistry if I'm being honest.
I think that Choi Yichan's story if unrequited love could have still worked to make him go to the lengths that he did, but just dipped after his story was over.
Which is another thing, I dont think romance was being used as a story element as much as it was being used as a checkbox of things to do in a slice of life novel.
Finally, I think the end of the story dragged on for too long. I feel like if there was just one chapter of everyone waking up on the day the cafe was reopening, it would have felt just as satisfying as dragging it out for 10 chapters of getting the band back together.
