There's a lot of criticism with how the MC is acting and how they behave, which is actually covered by a twist. The twist comes around chapter 100, and the premise is actually genuinely interesting to me. That being said, you have to read over that many chapters to get to it, which is understandable. My main gripes with the story stem from two points: the attempt to set up conflict with small matters and the continuous use of the misunderstanding troupe. While I love a good misunderstanding, without good comedic writing that gets stale after a long time, and this is one of those situations. At least for me? The attempts to set up conflict later on are clearly made to hint to the bigger plot, but are kind of formulaic to read through, and at points I did want to put it down. the author also clearly knows his audience, which means boatloads of fluff and extraneous details. It's to the point where the MAIN STORY is literally sidelined for the fluff. I'm not complaining, but it might not be for you. Still, this is a solid novel if you want a fluffy story with some background conflict. This never turns into an action novel or an sobfest, so props to that.
