The first volume is quite good because the themes are quite mature and dark, being thrown in the depth of the abyss and despair, the MC manage to overcome thoses trials and become badass.Confronted to this situation, his character obviously changed and if people didn't like Arifureta, it's probably because the rest of the serie doesn't go the same way of the 1st vol. They become disappointed because they expected the same dark and mature themes of the 1st vol, but they find light and funny situations instead.I however think that it's not a reason to hate the series that much, and I personally liked it. People should be more easy going, and not absolutely hate and flame the whole thing, even if thay didn't like it, because I don't think it deserves that much hate.And... well... I am a sucker for OTP so... yeah... All hail Hajime x Yue
