Wuxiaworld D**k Move With The Novel's Extra

can we close this thread now???? Remove it even. It’s very misleading.

No it shouldn't. It's not the first time a translator group has been attacked in the forums nor will it be the last one. You want NUF to start censoring everyone that wants to complain about a group? That won't happen.

Or do you want WW to receive preferential treatment and be protected from slander because it's a big site? Because that won't happen either.
No and no. There is nothing worth locking in this thread, it didn't break any rules.

And removal? That only happens for very serious offenses, this thread isn't even lock-worthy, geez.

*shrugs* Doesn't seem to be a problem.

His point of coming it down on the translator makes sense because while WW is a translation company, the translators currently have freedom over their novels. The control of sponsorships: when to open and close, how to set tiers, select editors, all this is up to the translators.

The translators on Wuxiaworld aren't their employees, they usually are contracted to translate a certain work (I could be wrong about this). You can find some WW translators working on other projects on other sites. Right now, as I understand, WW is a company that acquires a translation license and contracts a translator to translate it or contracts a translator and buys the license for him/her. Granted, it doesn't absolve them of the errors and mistakes the translator makes as ultimately it is their website.

Regardless if the reader is a leecher or a paying user.

Delaying releases like that for the sole purpose of milking money is not only a dick move but should be illegal.

Because in the first place, you're just translating someone else's work. Now youre exploiting someone's work to make more money.

I think the blame should go on the translator rather than the platform. That's like cursing youtube because users posted pedo videos.

Unless the author of the novel itself gave blessing to the translator to do this, even then, that's still a dick move.

It's really doubtful for the author to do this because if the author wanted to make money, he could simply publish said novel or release it on amazon as a epub like IET did with Coiling Dragon and that's completely fair because its honest and upfront.

There are simply more ways for the author to make money out of their work than do it this underhandedly so i'm pretty confident this is simply a case of a grease ball translator, i've seen plenty of them on qidian.

It is NOT completed. The author is still releasing chapters. Novelupdates has said it's been completed for like 5 chapters. Here were the last releases: 19.09.20 19.09.17 19.09.05 19.09.03

Look on Munpia yourself, where the novel is actually being released.

Here is an update from the author 10 hours ago:죄송합니다! 몸상태가 너무 좋지 않아 연재가 지연됩니다... 내일까지는 연재가 될겁니다!

which says something like he's delaying the NEXT release by a day

Chapter 378(377 for us) translates to: Epilogue (2), Their Story [Part 1]. Amazing that he ended the story on Part 1.

Stop spreading false information.

from comment in chapter 365

Well, I don't know about this story, but I know that when I used to translate for free just to pass time, with like no ads no nothing, I was getting insulted all over the place for every little delay. I was even told to die and whatnot. So really, people will complain no matter what you do.

They're not bound by contract but logically the author could still hold ww or the translator legally accountable since that is his/her IP and WW and the translator is a 3rd party with no written permission by author to use his works for monetary value.

Regardless, if the translator is guilty of exploiting other people's work for money then even if the translator cant be held accountable(if you're not from china, it will be hard for any lawsuits to reach you if you don't plan to visit china in your lifetime) it is still a dick move/ morally illegal move.

As they say, karma's a bitch. I'd rather live my life not having to make excuses about karma because i did something wrong or i'd be spending my life blaming karma for weird coincidences.

P.S. i have this belief in me or a baseline for how i live life to not get into trouble, i can do whatever i want so long as i don't directly hurt others(knowingly, i cant do about hurting other unknowingly or indirectly because i cant stop my life for them - like if a girl likes me, i cant not like others because she will get hurt) and in terms of this, i can do whatever i want with other people's IP so long as i don't involve money with it(earn money with it) especially if it gains alot of attention.
