Idk what chapter this is since translators split chapters up but in chapter 66 of the fan translation, there is some background to the Maktus family. It explains how Noah has black magic powers and such. Enon might have died because of Noah’s black magic? Idk though
The emperor tells Adele about some book about the Maktus family and the fate the Enon and Noah. The butler later reads a passage of the book. It states
“The men of the Maktus family are divided into black and white.
If White becomes the head of the state, the family will enjoy a lifetime of peace and harmony.
Black was born with black magic to protect the family. Because of this power, he is doomed to be embroiled in slaughter for the rest of his life. But he will revel in the thrill of bloodshed.
Black has no greed for power, wealth, or fame. Ultimately uninterested in obtaining authority to become the master of the household. Although he does not hunger for these things, his desire must never be provoked.
If the day comes that he desires for something, White must grant Black’s wish. If the wish is ignored or remains unfulfilled White will die. Also, if someone loses their life due to Black's black magic, their mouth and tongue will be black. It would be the same if he killed him indirectly.”
At one point, the princess invites Adele to the palace for a tea party and slips aphrodisiac in Adele’s tea. The princess thinks that Noah will hate a woman who will cling to him. Of course, that’s not true so Noah and Adele have some intense snu snu because of the aphrodisiac. Noah later forces the princess to apologize to Adele at a dinner party.
