I finished readng till the latests translation. it was the best part, just coz it involves plot and revenge, and so much counter measure XD
I like how there's not much of romance, and how the author focused more on how Jiuling walks to the capital step by step.
And seeing how it was 700 more chapters, the translation are still not half way there. I was thinking of stopping when she manages to go to capital, coz by then she might already deal and help with Fang family. Again, thank you so much
Even if the translation is finished, I wont continue reading it. Am sorry, translator. The only novel with more than 500chapters I read is Harry Potter (let' sjust say the whole series is 500 more chapter ehehehe)
I thought JL is indifferent with men, maybe she thinks more of her ex husband, or maybe she feels old with young love. But then, she flusters in front of ZZ, and becomes girl. I thought, it was weird that time, when she felt so sad at the Lantern Festival, and how she cries/stubborn when she knows it is ZZ who solves the Go. So it is, a foreshadowing, a flag of romance XDD
I would never ever guess, that the ML in this novel is ZZ!!!!

If this is manga, people will rage and send plenty of complain letters. The ML shows up in vol 10 of the manga? Instead of the 2 probable ML, we get the final ML after reading 9volumes XDDD

-oh wow, turns out the mastermind behind the Fang family curse is actually that magistrate Li Changhong. He was using Manager Song and that's why there were actual soldiers moved around. He gets arrested and thrown in the same jail cell as Manager Song.
-Chengyu kills magistrate in the jail cell. O.O He's quite gutsy. Btw, he's all better now and can walk by himself.
-everyone in Fang family is happy that Chengyu is okay. Jinxiu bursts into tears and is happy that Chengyu doesn't blame her because of her mother.
-Jiuling is going by her 'new' name 'Jiuling' rather than 'Zhenzhen' under the pretext that it's the name her grandfather left for her.
-Old Madam and Fang mom want Chengyu to marry Jiuling for reals (but we know this isn't going to happen).
-poor Jinxiu thought everyone hated her, but it turns out they were just awkward. Her sister gives her a pep talk and tell her that she can do whatever she wants, whether it's staying with them or going out into the world.
-Manager Song dies miserably. Magistrate Li is said to have committed suicide and all blame is pinned on him instead. He is publically executed. Also, the executioner purposefully missed the first time so only like half his head got lopped off. Then it was another half-cut on the other side. Only then is his head finally cut off. People are scared now because they realize the executioner was bought by money (cough, revenge of Fang family).
-Jinxiu is wrapped up in a corner watching the execution. She meets Chen Qi again (guy who got her into the gambling hall). She starts crying (the women in Fang family are present and all are, revenge finally served). She thinks she has no right to go up front because she's the daughter of Concubine Su. They have a nice talk, it's kind of cute though Jinxiu accidentally knocks over the sugar figurines he was selling because of her temper and apologizes.
-Jiuling knows she has to go (because of how she feels) and lets her leave. Jinxiu is chased by Chen Qi.
-Jinxiu gets her own screentime because soon Liu'er goes around looking for Jiuling. Not even Fang family knows where she went. The search goes on~
-as it turns out, there's someone behind Li Changhong and that's why Chengyu killed him. It was a trade -- quick mercy kill in exchange for info.
-holy cow, the hidden secret of the Fang family is that they actually have an Imperial Edict. Old Madame hid it in her crutch/walking stick. They're using it to overturn Yangcheng searching for Jiuling.
-just when things start getting crazy, Jiuling shows up. It turns out... she went out of town to pick herbs...... No one outside the Fang family knew she was a doctor until this incident -- it actually makes sense that she went out to pick herbs if she's a doctor.
-Jiuling was last seen talking with some man, so that's another reason why they all freaked. She explains that it was a 'woodcutter' (lol codename for Zhu Zan) who has a rare flower needed for last step in Chengyu's recovery. Sadly, message she meant to send to them to tell them got lost. (pfft, even her made-up story includes him)
-actual reason is because she was following a lead -- an imperial eunuch she knew as a child
-poor Old Madame is embarrassed that she pulled out this hammer of an edict just for the small problem of finding Jiuling. Jiuling hugs poor embarrassed grandma. Awwww~
-Chengyu has a conversation with her. He knows she wants to go to the Capital but asks if she'll be back. Jiuling didn't think Fang family would be so sincere towards her, but they are so her plans have changed. She's keeping the connection. (but poor Chengyu's still out of luck since he's not ML)
-some flashes to Guo Gongong (?), guy who used to be Jiuling's husband (Lu Yunqi), and Ning Yunzhuo.
-back to Fang family. Old Madame reveals to poor Chengyu that the marriage was fake all along. Fang mom is against it because she knows her son will be sad. But Old Madam wants to be just for Jiuling. But there's still the 'stain' of a false marriage according to Chengyu.
-Chengyu solves this by spreading a ton of rumors using the power of money, boosting Jiuling's reputation as a good person and a godly doctor, drawing on their Runan adventure alongside rumors that it was a false marriage. Plus, Jiuling being away makes this make sense.
-Lingzhi is still locked up. Chengyu deals with her.
-Jiuling is at the capital with Liu'er. She's also looking at the map Zhu Zan made -- he got a lot of money out of that small piece of business lol.
-Ning Yunzhuo is at the capital and swimming in politics
-Jiuling is still touring around with Zhu Zan's map and thinking about him. She's also eating at some 'food spots' he put on his map. XDDD

LYQ is probably going to face a tragic outcome. Poor guy though (if he didn't have anything to do with her father's death). I wonder if he'll fall for JJL? That would be interesting. I'm glad her cousin changes too. I can't wait for the translations to reach the point of meeting LYQ as he seems like an interesting character.
