The Job of an Imperial Concubine

Does anyone know what became of the major players in the harem? 

While I can't give a definitive answer given I also MTLed this part,she is definitely not just a Consort.  I'm unsure her exact title, but I believe she becomes the Imperial Noble Consort, which is ranked about a Noble Consort and one rank below the empress.

I agree. It's also interesting to me to read a story that have realistic setting of an emperor. I don't mind "monogamous emperor" MLs, but sometimes you need to drink something after eating so many desserts. But I don't like bad aftertaste, so as long as it's HE and the emperor is sane and treats MC well.. i'm fine with whatever happens in the middle. Humans were never made to be same anyways, so were love stories.

Also, I love this author. I like how she cleverly plans every plots and mysteries that are hard to predict. Her writing style is beautiful too, sometimes it made me want to learn chinese just to read the original version lol. Too bad she seems to succumbed to peer pressure.. I've only read 3 of her books so far so hopefully the other ones would be just as good 

english is not my primary language, so i don't care about grammar or quality, i just need to undestend.
I'm doing the same with Beloved Empress. the translations is too slow for my taste 

I MTL-ed the last few chapters a few weeks ago so here's some stuff I could understand

Spoiler: Pregnancy and later EpilogueSomewhen towards the end of the novel, ML allows MC to stop drinking the contraceptive soup. One day, she felt unwell and so the Taiyi(imperial doctor) inspected her and declared that she was pregnant. MC was alarmed but didn't believe him. She suspected that the misdiagnosis was a part of a scheme but turned out to just be an honest mistake. When they publicly announced her pregnancy, all the other concubines became very restless and tried to get rid of her. I can't remember what happened, but MC got herself into an accident to induce a "miscarriage" but it was actually just her period. Maybe she got a rival concubine implicated and punished, and I don't remember what happened but I remember her acting depressed and ML feeling even more sorry for her. He continued to let her skip the contraceptive medicine using the excuse that her was health was weak, and soon she became genuinely pregnant. The same Taiyi came and confirmed her pregnancy, and she subtly let him know that she knew he made a mistake last time. He was scared and became even more careful when taking care of her.

MC gave birth to one son, and he was more outstanding than any of his brothers. When he was 5 years old(I think), ML appointed him as crown prince. The crown prince loves MC very much, and he considers his relationship with his father pretty good too. In the epilogue, we see him attend a celebration for his eldest brother's bestowment of a princely(wang) rank. I'm not sure if it was Qinwang or a Junwang, but the brother became "Ping Wang"(again, I think T^T IM SORRY) His brother was bitter and talked to him about how he sometimes felt envious of him. He was the only imperial son with a Consort-level mother and was given the honor of the crown prince since he was young. He talked about their second brother who was also the son of a woman with a lowly identity. Once, the 2nd imperial son offended Consort Zhao (MC) and as punishment, ML sent him away to some outside residence. Even when he held a major birthday celebration, the ML didn't call for his second son back. MC's son thought something along the lines of "since he was such a person who didn't understand propriety and order, didn't he deserve what he had coming?" Ping Wang blanched and shut up. Later on, ML received a report on their exchange and I think he punished Ping Wang for it by making him copy/study scriptures. 

To those who felt pity that the MC didn't end up in monogamous relationship with ML, rest assured. The MC is smart. She knows when she transmigrated to the ancient China imperial harem, true love is impossible. So, she decided to enjoy what life has given her to the fullest. To get the most out of it. She manipulated the emperor into thinking she's madly in love with him, because she knows what the emperor really wants is actually that kind of woman. I haven't read until the end, but I read reviews that until the end the ML truly believes that MC really loves him wholeheartedly. He thinks he got the MC figured out. Never would he guess that all this time, the MC is only pretending to be like that, in order to live comfortably. And she's happy with that.

I suggest to not read this novel in hopes for romance, but rather to see the dynamic in imperial harem and MC's schemes to survive. So far, I personally enjoy this novel. Very realistic compares to other transmigration novel. It's really nice to see a smart, calculating, calm woman that is not too vicious, over-powered nor let herself to be bullied without purpose. Great MC. I hope I can find other novel with realistic characters like this. It's such a breath of fresh air after reading so many revenge-transmigration novels with OP leads. Le sigh...

After reading all the spoilers I'm not certain I wanna read it but it Seems good. I like reading more realistic novels where the leads think more with their minds and not with their feelings and since it's by the same author that wrote TBAVW and ETT and i absolutely love her novels I'll most probably read it despite the negative comments .

This is kinda disappointing, bc it's from the same author, I had assumed it would had a HEA ending...
So I guess, since MC wasn't the Empress, ML still had to keep "rain evenly" and mandatorily slept with his Empress about 1x a month?
I hate the ending in both Mistaken Marriage Match: Imperial Harem (since ML took another as his Empress, I guess he still had to sleep with her too) and The Beautiful Landscape (even though MC ended up with ML, ML still slept with his Empress and continued to have children with her too).  

Charysa, can you say a bit more about those novels after 8TT? Other than "I'm Just That Kind Of Girl" and "Ascending Do Not Disturb" I haven`t been able to find anything on those  historical novels by the author.
