I was skimming the raws and turns out,
the main antagonist (usually the white lotus character) also is jumping from world to world and following MC like the ML and his task is to ruin MC's life and make sure he has a bad ending?
Also, it looks like the MC is getting parts of his memory back (especially in the singing arc -- the one with the antagonist pretending a heart problem)? What was the MC and ML's real past and how did the antagonist fit into it? What happened to ML and why does MC not remember anything?

@azure_sea Even though I was supposed to be tling, I couldn't resist and I decided to start reading it. And all I can say is: fhdjahjdskalfhdjsa! The first arc!!! Surprisingly, I wasn't as off-put by the typos and all; it was still really good!!! And tbh, I felt bad for the half-brother (the illegitimate (?) son), even though he was technically one of the antagonist in that arc, I couldn't help but pity him so much. I know he did his fair share of bad things (especially when MC revealed to everyone what happened to his mom), but idk, I still pitied him a lot...I'm seriously liking it so far tho! ...I should prob just skip over your BL recs, that way I can focus on tling... But! I regret nothing!!! *goes off to read more~*

MC is actually never sure who the ML really is and he can't know right at the beginning. sometimes his heart will throb when meeting ML, sometimes not. he only knows when they kiss (so it's like FOD), but he doesn't just let anyone kiss him, you know?
one time, in arc 6 (or 7?) when they meet, mc didn't have any reactions at all. so he rejected ML when being asked out. only after some time did this familiar feeling suddenly rush up and MC's heart started pounding.
ML always go to MC first, but MC never knows if it's ML or not and doesn't want to "cheat" on his lover by kissing everyone that is interested in him, you know?
and MC doesn't know if he will meet ML in every world, so he treasures his time with ML in every world they are able to find each other.
what i really liked is that in the first 3 arcs, when they are old and dying, MC asks if ML will find him in their next life and ML says "of course, don't worry".

MC wakes up on the top of clouds with a golden palace in the distance and starts floating toward the palace without his volition. His body is in transparent soul form, and he's surprised the deities in the palace are unable to see him. He follows a handsome man into an inner chamber, where another youth is lying on the bed.
The man calls out MC's name, he misses him and wishes he would return, etc. MC gets dizzy and merges with the body on the bed. He wakes up, first recognizes ML, and then recalls his memories. They bicker, b/c MC's last memories before his near death experience was a disagreement with ML, but the bickering just ends up becoming reunion sex.
Backstory flashback: MC's dad is the Heavenly Emperor and his mom is the Heavenly Empress. When he was born, the heavenly dao brought down a hundred thousand bolts of tribulation, which his parents endured. His mom retreated to the healing pools afterwards to recover from the ordeal. His dad had to descend to the mortal world to endure ten reincarnations.
The empress had a cousin who was the daughter of the water god, named Yu Ji. She was jealous of the empress and fell in love with the emperor. She previously tried to seduce him, but he rejected her, and only spared her life on account of her relationship with the empress. Unsatisfied, she used the opportunity when the emperor reincarnated to seduce him while he had no memories of heaven. But still, she failed to seduce him, and in the end, used drugs to finally get him into bed and get pregnant.
When the child was born, the heavenly dao again rained down tribulation on the two parents. In the emperor's current situation, the tribulation would kill him. Thus, even though she was heartbroken by the betrayal, the empress sacrificed herself to bear the tribulation in his stead. As a result, her soul was shattered, and scattered to the void beyond the 99th level of heaven.
When the emperor finally returned to heaven, he learned of what happened and was very angry. He exiled the entire water god tribe, and sealed Yu Ji into the thunder tower, where her soul would be eternally punished. He then left for the void beyond the 99 heavens to try and recover his wife's soul. He left his heir (MC) in the care of the ancient war god Shang Wang (ML).
ML had never dealt with a kid before, and somehow ended up raising MC into a spoiled lover, though in front of outsiders they still maintain appearances that's proper to their stations. In the long endless life of immortals, MC found interest in watching the lives of mortals and then roleplaying various stories with ML. He was also jealous of the heavenly ladies who admired ML, and one particular jealous fit, he descended to the mortal world himself to try out a mortal reincarnation, and fell in to a trap.
Rewinding the story, the bastard child of Yu Ji (the Antagonist) was raised by the Snow Goddess. Upon learning of his heritage, he became very jealous of MC, and wanted to have his status and to rescue his mother from the thunder tower. He many times begged ML to let him see his mother, but ML always rejected him. However, this caused him to fall in love with ML, and thus become even more jealous of MC.
Thus, knowing the Snow Goddess also likes ML, he uses her by telling her of ML & MC's relationship, and got her to have a fight with the Fire Goddess, then to use her injuries to get ML to visit and then delay him from leaving. Then, when MC goes off to play reincarnation in a fit of jealousy, Antagonist tampered with his reincarnation, so that instead of returning after one life, he would keep reincarnating through different worlds, suffering tragic fates each time at the Antagonist's hand, which would slowly weaken his soul over time.
Meanwhile, after being trapped for several days by the Snow Goddess, ML broker through her seal and realized what had happened. In a rage, he killed the Snow Goddess. He then had to search though the countless worlds to find the MC's soul. However, it was already very weak, and the only way to recover him would be to change his fate in his reincarnations, strengthening him with each happy ending. The jade piece/system given to MC at the start of the story is a portion of ML's soul, allowing him to guide and follow MC through each world and help him out. (It's all a little more complicated than this, but that's the overall gist.)
End flashback. Back in the present, after a few more days of enjoying their reunion, MC goes to see the Antagonist in the heavenly jail. They exchange verbal barbs, and then MC sentences Antagonist to join his mother in the thunder tower for punishment.
Afterwards, MC idly wonders if his parents will ever gets back, because it would be nice if they can come back and give him a younger brother so he doesn't have to be crown prince anymore and can openly be with whoever he wants. ML also idly wonders if maybe he should go and give the emperor a hand.
