Ml has a ` brilliant` idea, he tells mc he's impotent mc actually believes him (and for a while thinks he will be on top when they get together ) anyway, mc is like great! Lets get divorced! And ml is just, your method of reverse psychology isnt going to work!
Soem other country starts war with mls country. Ml runs away to battle. Mc founds out as he's leaving, chases after the army, shouting from the city walls "come back!! Lets divorce first!!!" Everyone thinks he just saying this to get the general to come back
Mc goes back to house, writes letter to general, "we seem to have a misunderstanding. Let me make it clear, i only want to divorce you! Please write me a divorce letter!!" Ml gets a "family letter" (家书) a few miles outside the city gates. Everyone is like, crown princess must love our prince alot! The fastest family letter ever! Ml writes response, "i know you miss me, but this wont make me change my mind!" Ml orders to not give him any more letters until they reach border area, so when they finally do, there are like 7 seperate couriers hanging around suspisciously in the back of the army *
Mc wonders why ml isnt responsing to his letters...mc was a cook in his past life. Ml is very picky about food. Mls bulter tells mc that he can try to win ml over with food. Mc cooks a meal and sends it with a courier to the army camp along with a letter "please lets divorce!"(Ancient china version food delivery!) apparently it only takes about a day with a fast horse(???)
Mc somehow ends up sending almost daily meals to ml. The whole army is envious of "their love to each other" Ml has pretty much figured out that he misunderstood, but he decided hes becoming interested in mc , so he doesnt want to divorce and continues to acts oblivious
Original MC soul is actually still in the body. It should have died, but bc mc came, it survived. The general sends mc a secret message to meet up one night. Mc wants to refuse, but omc suddenly takes control of body and sneaks out. General wants the security map of the city, and he will marry omc when they take over mls country. Omc kills a guard and steals map from mls study room. Mc tries to reason with him, but omc only cares about the general, not caring that the resulting war will lead to thousands of deaths. Mc takes control again, and draws a fake map. Tells omc that this is a way to test the general, will he really take you away or not.
Ofc, general takes map, refuses to take omc away and leaves. Mc gets arrested and thrown in prison. Mc actually sent real map along with daily meal to ml , "come save me! TAT" (with the emoji too )
Ml doesn't believe mc would Betray them, hurries back. Rescues mc from prison, they fight the general, ml wins, ml has to go back to fight with the other country the next morning.
Omc disappears for a while (heartbroken so he doesnt fight for control of the body) mcs country trades 2 cities for general. Mc is bored, and introduces mahjong to mls friends, it becomes really popular, mc gets permission from king to open mahjong parlour in one of mls courtyard (without telling ml) mc continues making daily meals for ml. when mc got annoyed, he sent ml 3months of buns daily, each with "divorce" written on top. "Dont you feel the sincerity in my desire to get divorced?!"
three years past. There is two month or so with no reply from ml, mc worries, (ml was seriously injured &comatose and his generals got the idea to read mcs `love letters` to him, and ml woke up right there, cause he didnt want the generals to realize all the letters was asking for divorce while he has been pretending they have a perfect relationship the whole time! )
soon after, Ml wins war and comes back. Thw only reason the war took so long is bc mcs country/the general has been ‘secretly’ helping other country.
MC hasnt actually seen ml face to face before, talking through doors or he was unconcious, and once at night so too dark to see clearly. So he doesnt recognize ml when he shows up and is like "yo~ a new handsome face, are you here to play mahjong, *lists pricing*"
