I think the humour part was a little dumb IQ stuff. But it carried throughout novel like a tone.
Well you can read it for the time pass.
The modern world part whuch showed Mc original trajectory felt very ugly. I mean after so much of novel you suddenly get angst. And very frustratingly angry!
Good plot point though.
And it was very hilarious of the tresure to become national property
Mc and ml are like dumb and dumber. Very cute Ml

Last part:
The main story between mc and ml is mostly finished. From ch68-ish on is really just finishing up 7th prince and the guard friend's story
Their story actually really annoys me.. To the point i almost dropped the novel...
7th price use to bully the guard, so guard doesn't really like him. At some point in time 7th prince fell in love with guard...but doesn't stop bullying him...7th Prince is basically a tsundere Towards guard, who is oblivious of the changed feelings and reads everything prince does at finding ways to humiliate him.... (Which i feel is actually quite accurate....some of the things 7th prince does is quite humiliating even though he's" professing his love") ....7th price is too scared to confess his feelings...mc/ml figured it out tho.... Try to talk him into confessing... But 7th Prince just starts force kissing guard instead without even confessing!! (and im like wtf???) And he always picks the worse times to try to confess, where the guard never takes him seriously....
There Also a random very irritating character introduced for the sole purpose to creating drama... The daoist apprentice followed them back... Who falls in "love" with everyone that's nice to him... First ml making mc super jealous, then switches to mc... Making ml super jealous... Then to the guard... Making 7th prince jealous... But unfortunately....this isn't written in a funny way...
Guards dad arranges marriage for him, which guard is perfectly okay with. 7th prince finally seriously confesses... Gets rejected... Is depressed...(but im like seriously you didn't even do anything to try and woo him over or make up for all the bullying or anything even??? Beside the gdm force kissing)
On wedding day... The bride elopes with someone else...7th princess dresses up as bride and goes through the marriage so guard won't lose face...guard doesn't know until after the ceremony.....7th Prince continues to be extremely shameless... And more force kissing....
After some talking For some magic reason... The king & guards dad suddenly happily agrees to their marriage...as long as guard is the one to take the wife's role (Chinese status thing)
Meanwhile... The guard also suddenly and magically realizes he actually does have feeling s for 7th prince too (how??? why????) And then they get married.
*Ps. When i say suddenly and randomly, i mean it quite literally. Even though 7th Prince does nothing to win guard over, and just forces himself on him quite often... Somehow guard likes prince too, after being so against it for half the novel....
Also, mc makes a pair of wedding rings and gifts it to them. He also makes a set for himself and ml and gives it to ml in the last chapter (there was a first set, but got thrown away by omc before mc could give to ml) but for some unknown reason... Rings apparently do not exist in the world (.....)
And that's the offical end of the novel. A few modern world extras left.
The side pairing totally ruining this novel for me, like the main pairing is so cute... Then there is this couple with the kind of relationship i hate the most.... Where they use to dislike each other... Then one side basically forces the other one to get together... And that somehow turns into mutual love... (sorry, had to rant about this)
My feeling overall... The main story is okay, the ending went to hell....

Bwahahaha, yep, their interactions are very funny! I skipped to chap 38+ when ML has came back from the frontline, basically where the summary stated.
From what I still remember, ML is more like a puppy seme. When MC asked for divorce after he arrived home, ML refused, stating that he only now realised that his Crown Princess is so beautiful. MC is like, "are you serious?! I am a man! Previously you refused to marry a man!" ML is very attentive to MC, he even relented to his servants accompanying MC to play mahjong before bedtime. As they were playing, ML who sat beside MC, snuggled up to him and said, I'm sleepy, to which MC replied, then go back to your room and sleep. ML replied that he wanted to sleep alongside MC, and the head servant spoke to the MC about stopping for the night, stating that they (the servants) don't feel good to continue accompanying MC play mahjong when their Prince is clearly exhausted and need to sleep. One morning, MC woke up to the news that ML has captured all his customers, with intention to interrogate them for daring to enter the Crown Prince's residence. MC hastily explained that they're here to play mahjong, and even taught ML how to play!
From what little I still remember, while MC persistently asked for divorce, ML persistently asked to sleep in the same bedchamber as MC~
