Berserk Chapter 369 Discussion

The Ooze (and this climax) is dealt with pretty much offscreen, with no real explanation as to what was going on or why. We are getting snap shots of Berserk with this "summary series made from what Mori remembers Miura telling him" while also trying to fit it into a panel by panel narrative series. It doesn't work, and we're asked to analyze it and ask questions about the events transpiring while given bits of "lore" without the proper explanations to accompany them.
Really Guts? "I couldn't even hit him" is the dialogue we get? The most obvious and blunt description where a "Casca..." is sort of implied? Why couldn't that have simply been the dialogue? He obviously cares but the choice of dialogue is very poor. I'm sure all the performative "oh my despair" "zomg saddest I've ever felt" posters could have easily had even more of a field day with this episode.
The losing of corporeal forms at the end of the episode, why? Like the black ooze, we are given some potential reasoning with none of the explanation or nuance that should be provided. It seems set up in a way that the spirit tree on Elfhelm acts similarly to the flower Cheech was tied to, but without particulars we are left guessing. Regardless, after the merging of worlds and Fantasia, this shouldn't matter anyways. The ethereal and corporeal worlds have been merged on a fundamental core level. Again, is there an explanation? Maybe, but we likely aren't going to get one.
On the topic of the fading, it was at least nice they TRIED to give Isma an emotional send off, but I swear to God if Puck is also gone with zero fanfare or was meant to be that particle effect on the base of Gut's sword, a cardinal sin has been committed. He was the OG BlackSwordsman group member. Even NuBerserk seemed to have been showcasing his ass more than even Miura has been of late with reactions to the occurring events (even the promotional colour art showcased him). Fingers crossed they didn't do a legacy character like him so dirty.
